July 6th evening update
They finally started burning from Anderson Canyon today, got some good offshore winds and it seems to be going well. So far they are to the north side of Burns Canyon and it looks like they are coming down to right above me tonight. It will be an interesting night. Not much sleep I am afraid.
They tried putting a repeater offshore in a fish and game boat but the sea was too rough for Command 11 to come online. Command 11 is 173.990.

July 5th evening update
Well July 5th is here, quite a night last night. Was woke up by some firemen shining a light in the window at 1am, they warned me to be on guard as they were worried about the fire bumping the road. It held. Looks like low humiditys and santa ana's next week doesn't look good.
The cat is back in the trailer tonight, but they are burning the section above me tomorrow so we will be back in the save zone again. Going to be a rough week I'm afraid.

July 5th update
House is still standing and my home here is OK too. Fell asleep at 11pm and at 1am a OES task force structure group shined a light in my window. I got dressed and went out the redwoods at the top of the hill were shooting off like fire crackers and the fire was completely hot. They were a little concerned about it firing over the road on the south end. I was able to go up and look at it, but it was real smokey. This morning it had burned down on the south side about 50 feet from the bridge. It looks like the marine layer slowed it down a bit. Last night's relative humidities were in the low 40's. We'll see what today brings. They are all down at Julia Pfeiffer Burns. Got to do some rearranging and cleaning today. The cat was glad to get out of the truck, she spent another night in the back of the truck on my neighbors lawn. She's getting harder to catch. But she's going back threre tonight.
We'll see what today brings.

July 4th.
2:30 this morning we lost the water system, at first it was the pvc pipe going into the tank, but now it appears that the tanks burned up today. The fire is getting closer to the road but it still might be Saturday night or Sunday unless the winds change. I'm hoping for another marine layer to come in tonight to slow it down so I can sleep. We are so stretched for engines that nobody is even watching it. Occasionally engine 33 moves through and stares up the canyon for a while.
This fire appears to be more of a police action than it is putting fire out. They are using Highway One as a fire line and anybody to the east of it is at the mercy of the fire and anybody to the west of it is at the mercy of the slopovers.
I'm running out of fuel for the generator in four or five days I will be totally offline unless I can buy gas from a neighbor. No toilet, no shower, too much food going bad, and sleep is hard to come by.
Got a copy of the frequencies for the basin complex fire the western edition.
Main command is 167.100, main tac channel is 168.200, I'm in division yy and branch 11.
The cat is back at home, she didn't like it in the truck, but she will probably be back there tomorrow as the fire is getting too close to the road.
They are saying July 30 as a containment date, but I'm thinking the middle of August before its contained and maybe even 30 days before they let people back in here. I don't think many people are prepared to stay in here that long and once you leave you can't come back.

Wednesday noon update Buck Creek
Fire came down late last night above me here in the trailer. I've moved everything out except for 1 computer, and 2 scanners and a Kenwood vhf radio. I'm down to 22 gallons gas for the generator so Im not going to be up long, but I'll be up 3 times a day until the gas runs out or we burn down or I get out of here. Whichever comes first.
I know of 3 neighbors that are still here. But I don't know for how long.
This fire seems to be moving at night around 11pm to 2am its pretty active. You just never know what you wake up to. My scanner started beeping at 12:45 am and I went outside and saw Hot Springs Creek lighting up.
New frequencies.
169.9
167.1
156.075 Calcord
active today and yesterday.

Woke up today under a fog inversion layer completely smoked out. Its been a pretty smoke filled day and lots of poison oak in the smoke. The green OES Merced engine at the top of the driveway changed out to another green OES Merced engine as the previous one timed out and headed back to Merced.
Air attack and lead worked all day long on the Dolan Ridge area and it looks like they might be fighting a losing cause, but only tomorrow will determine that. A fog layer is coming in now and it's time to get out of this poison oak filled air and clean up a bit with some Technu.
All the animals are gone now except for my cat Mittsy, and she still wants to go out in the smoke. She's sitting here right now and wants to go outside again and do a little hunting. The gophers and mice are easy pickings right now.
Fixed the neighbors generator today and listened to a lot of scanner traffic.
I searched out one new frequency it appears to be the basin air ops from over the hill in Big Sur as it is a little weak but readable.
135.975
I think it might be better in Big Sur.
